Curly Girly is back to school today and on one of the hottest days of the year. The school summer holidays seemed to fly by this year and I think this was largely down to the wonderful weather.
So how did we do with our Top Ten Summer Holiday Hit List that we set out 6 weeks ago?
Things to Tick off the List!
Things to Tick off the List!
We joined the joined the Summer Reading Challenge
We went swimming (although not every week)
We saw Despicable Me 2
We had trips to London to visit the theatre, National Gallery and the Museum of London
We went to the beach.
Not on our list
We went bowling, had a visit to the Rare Breeds Centre and Curly Girly went kayaking with Daddy. There were some nice meals out, the most memorable being a special lobster tea for Curly Girly in London, where she danced with joy as the waitress brought the lobster to the table. She has developed expensive tastes in food!
Because the weather was so good, we went out a lot and didn't get to bake and craft as much as I would have liked. We also failed on the bike riding due to problems with Curly Girl's bike and mummy's disorganization. There was some bickering and despair at times, but on the whole, we have had a stonking good summer. It has been wonderful to have lazy mornings and even a pancake brunch in the garden.
So what if the housework has been neglected in favour of breakfast doughnuts on the beach or having picnics in the park?! We had joy, we had fun, flicking bogeys at the sun! (Anyone else remember that childish song?!)
Hope you have had a lovely summer wherever you are. Galx
