Tilda Fabric Giveaway; Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane

Today I am running a cheeky little giveaway for some beautiful Tilda fabric from the new Tilda Autumn ranges; Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane. I was sent 8 fat quarters of Tilda fabric by the super lovely people over at Stitch Craft Create to review as they are hosting a blog hop to showcase the gorgeousness of this Tilda fabric.

So, you can see that I had a mix from both the Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane collections. The inspiration for both collections comes from different eras; think sassy redheads from the 1960's for Cabbage Rose and sophisticated flapper girls in shades of bluey-black for Memory Lane. I love the old school charm of these prints and you know how I love a bit of vintage style floral (with added bunnies!).

I really wanted to show how the fabrics from both ranges could compliment each other so decided to experiment with a little strip quilting.  Now then, I am just a wannabe-quilter really but thought I would be brave and give it a go.  I even dug out my neglected rotary cutter which tbh, I'm a bit scared of as it bit me cut me the first time I used it.  It really is the easiest way to cut strips of fabric though and fortunately I didn't end up bleeding on the fabric this time.

First up, I made a new apron for my Curly Girl. I used a mix of fabrics for the strips and backed it with a solid in Teal.  Naturally, a new apron was a perfect excuse for a little baking (lemon drizzle cake and bloomin' yummy is was too). Ahem, please notice the pretty nails that Curly Girl was keen to show you.

I felt this fabric would make a great cushion to add a pop of warm autumnal colour to my squid ink blue sofa.  Equally this cushion would look fab in the garden but Curly Girl has other ideas and has pinched it for her bedroom, the little minx. Apologies for my poor photography; I am battling with a pc that randomly keeps turning itself off every ten minutes so difficult to edit the photo's to look their best. The colours of the fabric are much warmer and brighter than they appear here.

The Giveaway
I have loved using this fabric and I'm really pleased at how my strip quilt apron and cushion turned out.  So, I'm sharing the Tilda love by giving you the chance to win the fabric 'scraps' that I have left over after my two makes.  I use the term 'scraps' loosely as there is roughly a meter of fabric here up for grabs made up of seven different prints.

All you need to do is leave me a comment to tell me what you would do with the Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane scraps.  Don't forget to make sure I have a means of contacting you so I can get in touch with the lucky winner. I'm sorry that this giveaway is only open to residents of the UK. Closing date for the giveaway is Sunday 28th August 11 pm. Good Luck everyone!

You can find the Stitch Craft Create blog hop here.  Go have a look at what the other participants have been up to and you can find the Tilda fabrics here if you would like to buy some.

I'm rather pleased with how my makes turned out and thanks to Stitch Craft Create and Tilda for the lovely fabric. I think I might be brave and have a go at some proper quilting.

  2. Love these retro prints - I have an original of the pale blue with roses as the back slip of a pillow I made 40yrs ago (wish I hadn't done THAT sum lol). I have a fav. mini dress which has become too small (ahem!) so I would use this for inserts to make it fit and then use the rest to make it longer, as I'm getting a little past the micro mini age ;)

  3. I think you used this fabric so well. What a sweet apron. I am making doll quilts for my granddaughters and know that this Tilda fabric would be adorable in one (or more) of the quilts.

  10. Just come over from Very Berry Handmade! If I were lucky enough to win I would make some more wonky blocks for the Splendid Sampler! Wonky because it is my first attempt at quilting so I am on a steep learning curve, but really enjoying the challenge. I love what you have made with the fabric.

  18. I love your apron and the cushion is so pretty! I love the vintage fabrics - I love floral patterns at the moment!

I think if the material was mine, I would be tempted to make some bunting, a peg bag, and either a table cloth or runner (depending on how much I had left after the bunting and peg bag).

Thanks for linking up to the #AnythingGoes linky! Janet :)

  19. Sooooo pretty, what lovely things you've made. What is it about pretty fabric that makes everything seem ok with life? I'd make a headscarf - my wavey mane is in big need of a make-over (haven't had my hair cut since my daughter was born and I'm back to work soon, eek, need to tame those locks) #craftingismytherapy amylovestosew@gmail.com
