Can I get a big Eeeeeeeep?! Giddy Aunt Lola is off to the Kitsch and Stitch Vintage Makers Fair, woohooo! I've been building up to selling some of my vintage wares for the longest time and have finally taken the plunge. My sister popped over with two of her lovely daughters to help me sort through my junk boxes of vintage loveliness in a bid to select what I will be taking along to sell.
Trying to decide what to take and what I couldn't bear to part with was easier than expected as I am determined to have a jolly good clear out. It's all very well finding delicious vintage items for a bargain in charity shops but it seems such a waste to just stuff them in a cupboard or a box. I've enjoyed the hunt for vintage homeware but I always had a sneaky plan that I was buying to sell as well. My poor old dining room is heaving with vintage whatnot and sadly doesn't get used very often partly due to the clutter. So, it's time, dear friends, to liberate some of the vintage goodies into the wild where they can free range in another vintage Gal's home and be displayed and appreciated.
You'll probably recognise some of my charity shop finds that have appeared in my blog posts; I've been quite brutal in what I am preparing to sell and focussed on keeping things that I know I will actually use regularly or can display properly.
I have some work to do on my stall to pretty it up, together with some upcycling and creating that will prepare for the first outing of Giddy Aunt Lola at the Kitsch and Stitch Vintage Makers Fair on 5th July, Vestry Hall, Cranbrook. Exciting! Any tips you have on selling at vintage fairs and displaying and dressing my stall are gratefully received.
Tally Ho! Galx
Hope you have an enjoyable and profitable day.
